Abstract

This essay explores historical situations related to the absence of Human Rights (HR) education policies within the Department of Sports, Recreation, and Social Tourism at the National University of Cuyo —currently known as Sports and Recreation or University Club. It also analyzes the lack of critical review of military and disciplinary and/or labor subjugation models that have persisted over time within the institution. The work stems from a systematization process involving the recovery of documents and the re-signification of dialogues and questionnaires with professors who have actively participated in the institution across different generations. Furthermore, the aim is to carry out a recovery effort in terms of citizenship, university sports policies, and active memory, by generating critical perspectives that contribute to this academic community. The ultimate goal is to encourage inquiries that include perspectives on university sports within the framework of undergraduate education and the full exercise of citizenship by both teachers and students.
