Abstract

This article has three objectives. First, to understand neoliberalism as an essential framework for understanding the current era and how much this cultural perspective affects democracy, education, and physical education. Second, to establish a basic vocabulary of key terms that affect education and physical education: neoliberalism, democracy, equality/inequality, inclusion/exclusion. Finally, to rethink the critical approaches we have traditionally used to address physical education over the last four or five decades, considering their influence or lack thereof in practice and their capacity to bring about transformations.
